Tasmowski: “CSR and sustainability need to evolve to become core part of the business strategies. It needs to become a value driver of business, a driver of innovation, a driver of competitive advantage. Adaptation will require co-creation with the community and looking at really a foresight type of approach. That is still a journey where we need to discover a lot. One of the big challenges in that space is being able to speak the language of the other.
You also see it in the setup of the room where you have different small tables with a mix of different stakeholders on each table. That is very supportive of that type of dialogue. Corporations need to start speaking the language of NGOs, and NGOs need to start speaking the language of corporations and politics need to understand business. This is absolutely critical and I applaud that type of initiatives.”
